FounderI Have Always Wanted to Help People Feel Seen
When I was a little girl, I knew exactly what I wanted to be.
A wife.
A mother.
A teacher.
I imagined myself helping children learn, grow, and discover who they were becoming. Even then, I was drawn to the moments when something finally clicked—the moment a child understood something new and their whole face changed.
Life did not take me down the path I expected.
I listened to voices that told me helping people was not practical enough. I explored different directions, attended school off and on, and tried to find something that held my heart the way teaching did.
Nothing ever quite replaced it.
Because helping people was never simply a career idea for me.
It was part of who I was.
My Life Taught Me How Much Conversations Matter
Over the years, I became a foster parent and worked with children and families navigating difficult circumstances.
I watched children carry pain they did not create.
I watched adults struggle to find the right words.
I saw how often important conversations were avoided because people were afraid of saying the wrong thing.
And I learned that sometimes the most powerful question is not the deepest or most complicated one.
Sometimes it is the simple question that helps someone feel safe enough to begin.
That lesson became the foundation for Unperfectly Perfect.
One Bite at a Time
While working with children in mental-health settings, I began using a simple metaphor.
No one can eat an entire favorite pie in one bite.
In the same way, no one can address every emotion, experience, problem, or part of their story all at once.
Trying to take on everything can leave us feeling overwhelmed before we ever begin.
So I started asking:
“What was your bite of pie today?”
The question helped children recognize small victories.
A hard conversation.
A feeling they finally named.
A boundary they practiced.
A moment when they tried again.
That same belief now guides everything I create.
Growth does not have to happen all at once.
It can happen one conversation, one reflection, and one bite at a time.
My Story Is Still Being Written
Unperfectly Perfect was not created because I have everything figured out.
It was created because I do not.
I know what it is like to carry dreams while also carrying responsibilities, grief, fear, uncertainty, and unfinished parts of yourself.
I know what it feels like to question whether your work is good enough.
I know how easy it is to delay something meaningful because you are waiting for it to become perfect.
I am learning to move forward anyway.
Through writing, podcasting, educational resources, workshops, and coaching conversations, I create spaces where people can explore their thoughts, tell their stories, and discover what makes them uniquely themselves.
Not perfect.
Unperfectly Perfect.
What I Believe
I believe people deserve to feel heard before they are told what to do.
I believe simple questions can open the door to meaningful conversations.
I believe our stories matter—even the parts we have not found the words to explain yet.
I believe progress should be recognized, even when it looks small.
And I believe every question invites you to discover what makes you Unperfectly Perfect you.
This Is Bigger Than Me
My goal is not simply to build a business.
I want to build a movement rooted in conversation, reflection, creativity, and grace.
A place where children, adults, families, creators, and communities can learn how to speak honestly, listen compassionately, and grow without being ashamed of being unfinished.
Because none of us has to have everything figured out before we begin.
We only have to take the next bite.
